BPW London's Resolutions Women's Empowerment Principles BPW Ontario Advocacy BPW Canada Advocacy

BPW's Goal: The improvement of economic, political, social and employment conditions for women in Canada. Bottom line, we work to educate, promote and empower women in our local community, throughout the province of Ontario, across Canada and around the world. Empowering women is good for business and good for our community.

BPW London

BPW London, along with BPW clubs across Ontario, Canada and the world, advocates for the betterment of women and families.

We affect positive change for women through advocacy, community events, networking and collaboration with like-minded organizations.

This is accomplished through various means, including resolutions to both the provincial and national governments. Resolutions are developed at the club level and vetted and voted on at the either the annual BPW Ontario Conference or the annual BPW Canada AGM/Convention. Approved resolutions are presented in a brief format to the various government agencies.

Through support from BPW London members and friends, the club continues to be involved in the community through such donations/sponsorships as the London Basket Brigade, Courage for Freedom, My Sisters' Place and other community agencies in London and the surrounding area.

BPW London has also hosted, participated and/or sponsored many community events such as Women's Economic Empowerment Community Building Event, Workplace Harassment/Violence and the Power of the Purse.

Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs)

BPW London supports the UN Women and UN Global Compact Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and encourages the awareness, promotion and integration of the Women's Empowerment Principles into all aspects of Canadian life; including small business, all levels of government and civil society.

Women's Empowerment is a top organizational priority and we invite all stakeholders in London and across Canada to demonstrate their support for the WEPs and encourage business leaders to implement them to demonstrate their commitment to worldwide gender equality.
